UUNDERSTANDING THE "PUPPY UGLIES"
P Pomeranian puppies go
through what some people call
the "puppy uglies".
They start out as this
cuddly
little ball of fluff that looks like a tiny teddy bear and as they grow they
begin to change. Now change isn't always bad but you can begin to wonder what
you got. Did you really bring home a Pomeranian? At about 4 months old they
start to have different body parts grow at different rates. Their puppy
hair
stops
growing and no hair is replacing it. They look skinny and scrawny, they get shy
and even at times embarrassed. Then the adult hair starts to come
in but it comes in sprigs here and
there. They can look like an awkward pre-teen
with a very bad hair day. By the time they are 6 to 7 months old they have gone
through this transformation and like a butterfly coming out of it's cocoon they
are the beautiful Pom you wanted in the beginning. Their coat will
continue to fill out until they are about a year old. Males will
fill out even more by the time they are 2 years old and females will fill in
more after they are spayed. The pictures
here are all
of the same beautiful lady. Other than different lighting and cameras, over a
years time, this is the journey of "Dance Parti Diva".
She
has become a beautiful, gentle, loving lady that I will always be very proud of.
